The dreaded beam! Like many gymnasts, beam was once my least favorite event. There came a time in my career when I knew that in order to take my gymnastics to the next level, I would have to conquer the beam.
Only after I forced myself out of my comfort zone was I able to break through the barrier of fear that kept me from being great on beam. Once I finally figured it out, beam quickly became my favorite event and I went on to win two NCAA Championships titles on beam. Most importantly, the confidence I gained in myself after having conquered the beam, carried over to my other gymnastics events and into my life outside of the gym, as I felt empowered and ready to stand up to any challenge!
I want to share the same strategies, techniques, and secrets that I discovered in my journey to success with other young gymnasts so they can love and embrace beam at an earlier age than I did. Nothing would bring me more joy than to see girls conquer their fears on this event, giving them more confidence in and out of the gym.

Our goal is to create a collaborative, fun, and inspiring culture at the Bootcamp, that instills a new positive perspective and approach to beam. This event focuses on developing new skills, cleaning up old skills, keeping a positive attitude, and dealing with pressure. Most importantly, we focus on confidence—the belief that these girls can do whatever they set their minds to. Through goal setting, visual learning, drills, games, mantras, dance, and skill work, this event is a 2-day bootcamp to tackle the most difficult challenges of beam while delivering the tools and resources needed for success.
We have an extremely passionate and inspiring staff comprised of both athletes and coaches from the collegiate and elite level gymnastics, and we are committed to seeing improvement in these young gymnasts. We will destroy beam’s reputation as the “Make or Break” event, and most importantly, we will have FUN doing it! Let us help your gymnast become a beam queen!
XO Sam Peszek
“My daughter attended BQBC last summer. She had her first meet last weekend and scored the highest she ever has on beam (and was 1st on beam in her age bracket!). Beam is usually her lowest scoring event and this time it was her highest event score! She said BQBC helped her. I have never seen her more confident in her beam skills.”
“My mom paid long in advance before I had my surgery for this Bootcamp, we weren't 100% sure as to how things would go down. However, when I attended the event, I felt more confident, motivated and in general, optimistic for the road ahead of me & returning back from training. Now, I always think of the tricks I learned at Beam Queen Bootcamp & apply them to my training. Not only was BQBC supportive of my injury, I think it played a huge role in my recovery.”
“Last summer BQBC came to Utah and I was thrilled to be able to send my daughter. It was well run, positive, motivating, fun and empowering. I can’t say enough good about this camp. I hope every girl gets the opportunity to attend one and I will definitely be sending my daughter again if the opportunity arises!”
“My daughter competed her first meet last weekend & scored a 9.45 on beam & took first place. Thank you so much for the confidence you gave her as this is becoming one of her favorite events now. Your BQBC is amazing & my daughter will forever remember what she learned.”
“Beam Queen Bootcamp was by far the best gymnastics experiences we've had. She was joyful to see her idols & thrilled to work with the amazing coaches there. As soon as we got in the car after the Bootcamp, the first thing she asked me was if she could go to ALL the BQBCs!”
“My daughter had been off for most of a year with an injury, surgery, & rehab. Beam Queen was an amazing part of her return to beam. Everyone at camp is so positive & uplifting. The entire experience is about sharing, working through challenges & tricks for the part of beam that happens above the shoulders. She still returns to the mindful pieces that she learned from Sam & the team. HIGHLY recommend going, maybe especially if you are on the mend from an injury.”
“It was the most fun that I've ever had. I got over many mental blocks and gained more confidence in myself!”
“Beam is my 14 year-old daughters arch nemesis. She came away with a clearly refreshed attitude about beam, and went from being very hesitant about the clinic to very thankful that she went. The messages the team conveyed during the open question time was so great! I loved that the girls got to hear the stories of struggle and success. I am very happy to call you and your team a role model for my daughter. Keep up the amazing work! You are changing lives, without question. Luan is amazing as well!”
“My daughter attended the Beam Queen Bootcamp and it was everything I was hoping it would be and more! The staff was amazing. They were full of positive energy and really had a way with the girls. My daughter left with a sense of accomplishment, some tips and tricks for the beam - and for LIFE!!! Thank you to Sam Peszek and the Beam Queen Bootcamp for empowering our daughters and teaching them to be resilient, how to be strong on the inside and how to exude confidence! My daughter is looking forward to going back again and again!”
“BQBC exceeded every expectation I had and was well worth the money for the entirety of what we took away from the experience. This event helps gymnasts see both the fun and mental aspects of gymnastics, while also presenting them with tangible tactics and resources to implement in their regular practices. The journaling and visualization station was such a unique and meaningful exercise for my daughter that she would not otherwise have gotten the chance to experience. My daughter arrived at BQBC not knowing a soul and came away from the weekend with 5 new friends because of Sam’s ability to lead the girls out of their comfort zone to work together in a fun and positive way. My daughter said it was the best day of her life.”
“Beam has never been a favorite event for my daughter, I actually knew in my heart that if she ever quit gymnastics it would be because of beam. I knew if we didn’t do something to build her confidence, it would start to hold her back. I am not going to lie, she was not excited about just doing her least favorite event for two days. Especially, by herself without the comfort of her teammates. She is painfully introverted and shy, but pushing her outside her comfort zone turned out to be just what she needed. In the weeks to follow, she was so excited to tell me about all of the new skills she was accomplishing on BEAM! Whatever they teach at BQBC is working and sinking in because the after effects I've seen are amazing! Regardless of what happens in the gym, I know that the confidence building skills she learned at Beam Queen will help her in every aspect of you life.”
“Beam was my daughter's nemesis last season and she struggled with the fear of going backwards. It's now her favorite event. For Kayla, hearing that Olympic gymnasts struggled with the same fears and hurdles in their career has boosted her confidence and has given her permission to fail forward. We've seen tremendous growth since BQBC and her joy for the sport is through the roof. It's amazing what the girls accomplish in just 2 days at BQBC.”
Each location is different depending on the level requirement, so make sure to check closely when registering. Our events are typically for level 3 - 10, including Xcel silver and up, but we do occasionally offer Compulsory Only Bootcamps & Optional Only Bootcamps as well.
Our BQBC coaching staff is filled with Olympians, former National Team Members, NCAA gymnasts, NCAA coaches, judges, etc. The staff changes depending on location, but each event is stacked with an elite group aimed to inspire and educate. So far, we've had 5 Olympians, 6 World Championship gold medalists, and more than 10 NCAA Champions.
If you purchased the merchandise on the registration site, you will receive it on day 1 during check in as we encourage the gymnasts to wear their matching BQBC swag on day 2. We will have some extra merchandise at the Bootcamps, but we only bring limited sizes.
ABSOLUTELY. It is definitely not a requirement to stay and watch, however, we do encourage parents to come to the last 30 min of day 2 as we'll be doing an awards presentation.
We do group the athletes based on level, so we suggest asking the coach which level of beam skills she's mastered or is mastering. If you're unsure, you can always put the level she just competed. We've had some parents get "creative" on this, so we do ask for honesty as your gymnast will have a better experience if she's in a group that fits her skill level.
Unfortunately, we don't do refunds. If your gymnast incurred an injury since the time you signed up, we do encourage them to still attend, as not all of the rotations are on the equipment. We've had a couple of injured gymnasts at each of our Bootcamps to date & they still get a lot out of it.
Yes! We have BQBC for coaches too (only for coaches that are USAG Professional Members or Instructor members). If they're a coach at the host gym, they're welcome to attend for free. If a coach brings at least 5 gymnasts, they are also welcome to come for free. If not, we do charge $199 for the weekend. They will also receive the BQBC coaching PDF that has Samantha Peszek's beam philosophies and more in depth description on her her healthy relationship with her coach and how he was able to help her reach her full potential without being demeaning or disrespectful.
Yes! We do offer a short break for the gymnasts to refuel. Please make sure you provide a snack for your gymnast as we will not be providing any food.
This is actually a big misconception about BQBC. Oftentimes, we have more gymnasts that come by themselves than with teammates. We LOVE it. If you haven’t been to a Beam Queen Bootcamp before, we encourage you to ask someone who has been about their experience! We like to make it a fun environment right when you walk in the door at check-in. Our “family approach” means our staff is high energy, uplifting, and supportive like you’ve known them for years! We also love that an added benefit of our events is the new friendships that are made. This community is very special, so if it’s your first time attending, we can’t wait to have you experience this for yourself! See you soon!
We expect a lot from our Beam Queens:
